Smart...

I just have to share the latest example of John being smart. This morning I changed his diaper in the living room as usual. I folded it all up and set it beside me- my back is terribly sore so I wanted to wait to take it to the garbage so I'd only have to stand up once. Well, apparently I didn't move quick enough for John. He picked up the diaper bundle and left the room. Jeff and I just looked at eachother- where was he going to take it? Jeff followed him slowly so he wouldn't distract him. Well, John walked into the bathroom and put the diaper in the garbage- ALL BY HIMSELF. What a smart little guy!

Play Time!

For the past few days we have been in Holland at Grandma and Grandpa Goff's house for a final visit before heading south. Last night (Tuesday) we took a little road trip up to Rockford to visit Jed, Mandy and Owen. I just love seeing John and Owen play together- it is such fun to see them interact and get to know each other better! They had a great time playing in Owen's toy room and outside in the cars. After dinner Owen said "bath? John?" I asked Owen "do you want to have a bath with John?" "yeah!" SOOO... John and Owen had a bath- and what fun it was! No soap involved, but lots of splashing and giggling. After bath, the most fun that can ever be had is dancing around the living room NAKED!!! We truly missed Ga-Mah Queen laughing and saying "Naked baby! Naked baby! Naked baby!!!" but we still had a good time.
John fell asleep in the car on the way back to Holland, and slept until 7:30 this morning- whew!

I think Mandy has some more good ones- I'll have to get them and post them since they haven't been updating their blog (AHEM...)

Hair Cut Pictures

As promised... here are the pictures of my baby getting his first hair cut!

Look at all those curls gone :(

a week in pictures....

John and I went up to Cross Village with Gramma Queen and PopPop this past week, a final trip before we head south. John had SO much fun following PopPop around, and by the end of the week whenever Pop was out of Johns sight, he would shout "BOPBOP!!!!!" and run off looking- its adorable. It has been so special for both of them to be able to spend time together this summer.

Cool pumpkin hat, on the way to Pond Hill to see the animals.

Wow Pop! Look at this!!!

This way to the animals!

My Boys...

I was going through all of the photos on Mom's computer up north, what an amazing few months it has been spending time with family and friends. I came across this picture from our trip to the North Channel and it took my breath away. My Boys...

Curls, glorious curls...

They're GONE!!! John had his first haircut this week, I can't believe how fast he is growing up. I know many babies have their first haircut soon after birth, but John was not very blessed in the hair department- despite all of the heartburn I had! I was really loving the way the back of his hair curled up into little golden rings. But as it grew longer it got heavier and stopped curling, so then it was just long and a little like a mullet. Now, I have nothing against mullets, I just don't want my handsome little man to have one!
I'll post pictures soon, they are down in GP and we are up north enjoying the colors changing on the trees.

Great Grandma

Last Friday night John and I flew to Rhode Island, where Jeff had been working over the last week. The main reason that I made the decision to fly (2 flights, with John on my lap- alone) was to see my Grandmother, John's Great Grandma who lives in Seekonk, Mass. which is right near Providence, RI.
The last time I saw Gram was in 2004 for her 90th birthday bash- thats right, she is nearly 94 and a remarkable woman! She mentioned to me that she just joined a new health club and plans to start working out three times a week!! We should all be a little more like her! It was great to catch up with her and other family members, but it was so special for John to have this opportunity. He had many cuddles to give Great Grandma, and he LOVED playing cards with her- what fun!

Photo Shoot

Aunt Kristen took John outside this morning for a photo shoot- it was pretty chilly, but John was a ham!!

Mischief

Mischievous Cousins....

A few seconds after I took this picture, turtle food was all over Parkers bed- oops!! Good thing those pellets are easy to pick up.

OWIE!

This happened the other day, and as of today it is nearly all better! Poor little rambunctious guy.
