John was 'late' to talk. Or so they say... Though today he can talk circles around many of his classmates. I think he just did it in his own time. Lily, on the other hand. She is a chatterbox! Sometimes she just babbles with very distinct inflections but much of the time she is saying real words (some we understand, some we have to figure out) so far, her words are:
Mama
Dada
Buhbuh (brother)
Ball
Shoo (shoes)
Moe moe (more)
NO
Doddie (doggie)
Tantoo(thank you)
Tickle
Pup (cup)
Pup (up, slightly different than the cup word)
Bana (banana)
Bye bye
Guh Guh (good girl)
I might be missing a few, but whew! Tonight, she was helping me in the kitchen by closing the dishwasher, she was looking at me saying Guh Guh! It took me a couple seconds but when I said "yeah! Good girl Lily!" she had that look of relief that I finally understood when she was saying.
Children are such joy. I truly love every stage, watching them learn and develop into little humans. Wow. What a journey...
