I know, I have been bad at posting lately- I blame sheer exhaustion! We had a busy week last week up in CV with my cousin Katherine, Thom, Alex and Brahm coming to visit. It was so nice to get to catch up with family I haven't seen in 4 years! I have always loved Kath like a big sister- when I was young she was in college at MSU and she and Thom used to come in on weekends to hang out- I remember laughing a ton when they came to visit! Sadly, I don't think I got any pictures of the visit- we were so busy!
On Friday we drove down to Holland to stay with Jeff's parents for a week so they could have some 'John Time', its interesting to see him interact with all of the people in his life! I had a good smile the first morning here though, John was in his highchair for breakfast and he looked around the room saying "PopPopPopPop" in the cute little way he does- he was looking for his PopPop! Dad and John have a priceless little routine in the morning of big cuddles and snuggles in the beard. The only time I see him sit still on a lap is on Pop's (although never for too long!) .... It makes my heart warm to see that bond :)
Yesterday we went to the campground that Jeff's parents belong to- they have a small playground and a pool. John LOVED the swing
hated the tube slide (it was a little big, and the other slide was way too hot from the sun) and he hung on to the rings for a second all by himself....
until he fell!
Poor John, a facefull of dirt- he was pretty grumpy about it- but he didn't cry and he loved being squirted with water to clean it off!
In the pool we are working on blowing bubbles with his face in the water- Katherine teaches swimming lessons and she gave me some pointers on how to teach him. He loves every minute of being in the water, especially when there are tons of other kids around to talk to!
Today its raining so we are going to play inside- maybe after nap time we'll go out and splash in the puddles!

Cruising in the Pacific offered Jeff and I some pretty amazing encounters
with marine life. We had a few in the Caribbean as well, but it was in the

Nice! Looking good there Johnny! Way to take a face-plant like a pro!
Wow! The face-plant series is my favorite photo series EVER!! And I love that you kept taking pictures instead of jumping up to wash him off right away! The other day Lyla puked all over Davids face, it seriously looking like he was wearing a mask. I had my camera in my hands and was ready immediately but he couldn't wait 2 seconds to let me take the picture!! Once he cleaned his face he regretted letting me document it for all the world to see in my blog.
